The Mission Hills Business Improvement District is a non-profit 501 c 6 mutual benefit corporation and was formed:

  • a) to enhance the growth and improvement of Mission Hills businesses;
  • b) to create partnerships between business and property owners that promote economic revitalization and combat deterioration in the community served by the Mission Hills Business Improvement District; and
  • c) to administer business and property owner assessment districts under contract with the City of San Diego, all of which are provided for by one or more ordinances of the San Diego City Council, including but not limited to Ordinance #0-17229 (the “Ordinance”), which may be amended from time to time by the San Diego City Council.

The Mission Hills Business Improvement District intends that the Board of Directors shall collectively represent a diversity of relevant backgrounds and skills to enable the Board of Directors to make informed, well-balanced decisions regarding the Corporation’s activities. It is seeking business owners who desire to give of their time and talent in pursuit of community ownership that instills a sense of pride and place to keep the economic climate in Mission Hills strong.

On a yet to be determined date due to COVID, four (4) seats will become available on the Mission Hills Business Improvement District Board of Directors, each with a term beginning on election day 2020. One is for a one (1) year term continuing through the Annual Meeting date in November 2021 and three are for a three (3) year term continuing through the Annual Meeting date in November 2023.

Officers of the Board of Directors

On a yet to be determined date, due to COVID, the Annual Election of Officers for the Mission Hills Business Improvement District Board of Directors will occur. One must be an elected board member serving on the Mission Hills Business Improvement District Board of Directors in order to run for an officer position. Each officer serves a one (1) year term beginning the date of their election and continuing through the Annual Meeting date in November 2021. Officers are elected by the Mission Hills Business Improvement District Board of Directors.
