As an interested participant in the 30th Annual SANDAG Bike to Work Day, we wanted you to be the first to know that we have decided to postpone this year’s Bike to Work Day event, scheduled for Thursday, May 14, out of an abundance of caution.
We are taking guidance from national, state, and local agencies, including the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, which recently issued an order prohibiting all large events with more than 250 attendees. While these recent orders do not currently extend to May, we believe it is our responsibility to protect our participants, staff, and volunteers, and that we must do all that we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our region.
We hope to reschedule Bike to Work Day later this year when we can all enjoy a safe and healthy Bike to Work Day experience.
We understand the disappointment that this decision may bring to many of you, and we deeply appreciate your support as we all work to navigate this ever-changing landscape. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Bike to Work Day project manager, Phoenix Smith, at email@example.com.
SANDAG remains committed to building the “GO by BIKE” Regional Bike Network to make biking a convenient and safe option for everyday transportation needs. We hope you’ll consider opportunities to continue to GO by BIKE.
