City of San Diego reviews parking meter prices

Parking meter fees are proposed to be increased

Faced with a budget deficit, it has been proposed that parking meter fees be increased. The City currently operates 3,811 parking meters which cover a total of 5,332 metered parking spaces. An Office of the Independent Budget Analysis Report has proposed doubling the parking meter fee

The San Diego City Council is expected to hear this issue at at meeting on January 27, 2025.

Update – January 30, 2025:

The City Council has decided to increase parking meter rates in the City of San Diego. Most meters will now cost $2.50 an hour, effective Friday, February 1, 2025.
