Free City of San Diego Cybersecurity Awareness Program for Small Businesses – March 2, 2023

Free City of San Diego Cybersecurity Awareness Program for Small Businesses – March 2, 2023

The following information and opportunity has been shared to the Mission Hills Business Improvement District by the Small Business Engagement Unit at the City of San Diego’s Economic Development Department:

On behalf of our Capital and Tourism work unit, we invite you to forward to your small businesses, post on social media and spread the word about a free San Diego Cybersecurity Awareness Program.

The City is partnering with Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) to help small businesses increase their cybersecurity awareness and preparedness to bolster the region’s economic resiliency. The program is FREE to participating small businesses, made possible by a grant from the City of San Diego.

The FBI reports a 300% increase in cybercrimes across all industries since the pandemic began with the average cost of a data breach climbing over $4 million! More than half of these costly attacks are aimed at small businesses and supply chains – our region’s economic engine.*

Cybersecurity Awareness Program Offerings:

  • Detailed cybersecurity risk assessment from MasterCard’s RiskRecon.
  • Cybersecurity awareness training for up to 100 employees from ESET.
  • Tools to develop and exercise your cyber incident response plan with CyberCatch’s simulator.
  • Threat landscape briefing from the FBI.
  • Connectivity to the region’s cybersecurity industry including additional customizable resources.

And most importantly…get the tools to take positive action to protect your organization’s data, employees, vendors and customers.

Please join us for the virtual information session and FBI Briefing on March 2 from 10:00 – 11:30AM to learn more about the program and current threat landscape as well as how to register your company for the complimentary cybersecurity offerings.
