About the New Library
The new Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Branch Library is part of a San Diego Library renaissance and a revitalization in the Uptown area. The current facility served Mission Hills for 56 years, but community needs have outgrown the Library. In the heart of Uptown and adjacent to Florence Elementary School, the new Library creates a spacious new venue that will broaden access to invaluable free resources for new readers, K-12 students, seniors and the business community. The Library Foundation and the Friends of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library have partnered on a Campaign for Excellence to ensure excellent programs, advanced technology and robust collections to serve community needs. There are a number of ways you can support the campaign.
