Lazy Acres Coming to Mission Hills in the Previous Haggen’s Location

lazy-acres-logoThe anchor store space at 422 W. Washington Street has sat unoccupied since Haggen’s filed for bankruptcy and closed its San Diego locations. There have been many questions and speculation as to what store might take over the spot and it can now be confirmed Lazy Acres has leased the Mission Hills location.

Lou Hirsh with the San Diego Business Journal has further details on the grocer’s plans including the tentative opening date slotted in mid-2017.

Lazy Acres is operated by parent company, Bristol Farms. Presently, Lazy Acres has locations in Long Beach, CA and Santa Barbara, CA, with a new location planned for Encinitas. The grocer bills itself as “your best source for wholesome, natural, and organic foods and products.” According to the company’s website, some of the offerings and departments found in their stores include: grocery, dairy, meat & poultry, produce, bulk foods, juice bar, deli & prepared foods, cheese, wine & spirits, seafood, sushi, and floral.

According to the brokerage firm, Retail Insite, who represents the owners of the building at 422 W. Washington Street façade upgrades are planned.

Welcome to the neighborhood Lazy Acres!
