New Stop Signs Installed at Washington Place and Ibis Street
Stop Signs installed to increase traffic safety at intersection of Washington Place and Ibis Street
New stop signs have been installed on Washington Place heading east and west at the intersection of Ibis Street. Previously, a stop sign was only present heading south on Ibis Street, approaching Washington Place.
Previous reports from local businesses and community members indicated safety at this intersection might be improved if stop signs were installed for vehicles traveling east and west.
In July 2022, the Mission Hills Parking Advisory Committee considered the issue and unanimously approved supporting the installation of stop signs at this intersection.
Following the vote the Mission Hills Parking Advisory Committee and BID worked with the City transportation engineers and street division to bring the stop sign to fruition. There is much to be celebrated when the neighborhood unites for safety and the common good. It takes a village!
