free-bike-in-movie-neighborhood-ride-april-26-2015Thank you to all who attended and participated in the recent Free Bike-In Movie & Neighborhood Ride!

The event, which was hosted by the Mission Hills Business Improvement District and made possible through a generous grant from SANDAG, iCommute, & GO by BIKE was a great success and lots of fun for all.

A special thanks to Mission Hills Fabric Care Center for providing their parking lot as a meeting point, where the ride commenced with a workshop on the ABC’s of Bicycling safety and rules of the road, led by a League Certified Instructor.

Our gratitude goes to all the Mission Hills businesses, which were open and/or provided discounts to cyclists on the day of the event. A special recognition is due to the three Free Water Stations: The Front Porch, Heartwork Coffee Bar, and The Red Door.

We also would like to thank the following:

Judi Tentor, who brought the grant to the attention of the Mission Hills BID and was the event’s lead volunteer.

Daniel Geddis, who helped with logistics on the day of the event.

Brandon Carpenter from Mission Gallery for bringing and speaking about his incredible pennyfarthing bicycle.

It was truly a collaborative, community event!
