SANDAG Shares Washington Street Bikeway Project Status with Mission Hills Parking Advisory Committee
Representatives from SANDAG, were in attendance at the August 21, 2019 meeting of the Mission Hills Parking Advisory Committee (MHPAC) to share information on the status and current conceptual designs of the Washington Street and Bachman Place Bikeways Project. The focus in the meeting was of the portions of the project affecting Mission Hills. Information reviewed related to changes in traffic, parking, and biking in the area as well as the design and construction of a retaining wall on the South side of Washington Street, North of International Restaurant Row.
SANDAG is the regional transportation authority for San Diego County. The project planning for the section of West Washington from San Diego Avenue to the West University Avenue exit ramp has been completed. Implementation is scheduled to begin in FY20. The MHPAC is eager to be involved with the next phase of planning starting at the West University Avenue and continuing thorough the Mission Hills BID.
